Our team consists of a consortium of Renewable Energy System Engineers, Trainers, Designers and Installers, some of whom are recognised as pioneers of the Solar PV Industry. Collectively, we have over 70 years of knowledge, skill and experience as consultants, advisors and trainers in the clean energy environment.

The diversity of expertise within our team is sought after by government agencies to assist in the development of renewable energy businesses and projects throughout the developing countries.

Dwipen Boruah: Co-founder and Managing Director, GSES India

Dwipen is a graduate in mechanical engineering and a post graduate in renewable energy from Oldenburg University, Germany. He has earned more than 26 years of experience in renewable energy planning, project implementation, consultancy and capacity building. He has been working on engineering design, development, implementation, feasibility and techno economic due diligence of large grid connected PV power projects, off grid PV and hybrid system design and optimization, rural electrification through mini/micro grid projects, capacity building strategy, planning for developing solar cities and green campus.

 A master trainer for GSES training programs conducted in India and abroad, he has authored and co-authored books and training manuals on solar PV system design installation, maintenance and inspection; more than 70 technical and professional reports; several publications and papers in technical magazines and journals.

He has the experience of working with a number of local, regional, national and multilateral organisations in several countries and has proven knowledge of different renewable energy technologies, barriers for deployment, methods and approaches applied in the field of technology roadmaps.


Geoff Stapleton: Founder and Managing Director, GSES Australia; Co-founder and Director of GSES India 


Geoff graduated from UNSW in 1981 as an electrical engineer with specialisation in solar photovoltaic engineering and has since been involved in the renewable energy industry. He is an expert in the design, engineering, installation and operation of renewable energy systems of varying scale including grid connected PV systems, solar and hybrid systems (including storage technologies), micro-hydro and solar water pumping systems.

Geoff has extensive experience in providing peer review services of the design, installation and performance (energy yield and financial outcomes) for remote area renewable energy power systems in Australia, the Pacific, Africa and Asia. Geoff has been working with multilateral financing institutions, governments, development agencies, private enterprises, and local communities providing training and consultancy services spanning over 30 countries. He has been instrumental in the establishment of training and accreditation programs concerning the renewable energy industry as well as in the development of technical standards, industry guidelines and quality assurance programs.

Geoff has been active with various industry associations since 1991 and was Chairperson of the Clean Energy Council’s Standards, Training and Accreditation committee (STA). He is a member on Standards Australia Renewable E committee, the Advisory Committee for EE-Oz (Electro technology Industry Training Advisory Body). He was also a part-time senior lecturer at the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at the UNSW.  


Siddharth Samarth: Project Manager

Siddharth holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He has  a  broad  range  of  professional  experience  in  research,  consulting  and  project  management  based  roles  in government and private sectors. He has worked in Australia and India helping organisations achieve best value outcomes through evidence based decision making, problem solving and innovative thinking.  

His  area  of  experience  include  design,  engineering  and  delivery  of  Solar  PV,  Energy  Efficiency,  Waste  and  Water management projects. His academic experience includes multidisciplinary qualifications covering  concepts and practice of engineering, economics, business strategy, environmental markets, social sciences and law & policy, enabling him to look at a problem from different perspectives, and provide solutions which best fit client’s needs.

Lucky Aggarwal: Senior Consultant

Lucky Aggarwal holds an M.Tech degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from TERI School of Advanced Studies (Formerly TERI University), Delhi. Before joining GSES, he worked as Technical & Business Development Manager at Smart Roof Solar Solutions Pvt Ltd. He specialises in Techno Commercial Feasibility Analysis, Project Costing & BOM preparation, Net Metering Liasoning and Design, Installation and Commissioning of Solar PV projects. He has hands on experience in working on Solar PV Rooftop and Ground based EPC projects ranging from 3kWp to 1 MWp capacity.

Ankita Singh: Training Co-ordinator

Ankita holds an M.Phil degree with specialization in Gender and Minority studies. She has done her Master’s in Public Administration with distinction from Banaras Hindu University (2012). She has graduated in Political Science from University of Allahabad (2010).  She has presented papers in National and International seminars and conferences, has worked on projects for the Department of Political Science and the Centre for Study of Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy.


Ajay Kumar Sahoo: Senior Engineer

Ajay did his graduation in Electrical Engineering (2012) from Biju Patnnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha. Before joining GSES, he was a Project Engineer at ONergy Solar and was responsible for installation and commissioning of medium scale PV projects. His hobbies include cycling and swimming.

Polakh Gogoi: Engineer Projects

Polakh is a Diploma Engineer with specialization in Electronics and Telecommunication from Silchar Polytechnic Institute, Assam (2013). He holds specialization in design software tools like AutoCAD, Adobe CS6, Corel Draw etc.  He has experience in site assessment and shadow analysis for rooftop PV projects in more than 50 buildings and supervised installation of  solar water projects to provide clean water in rural schools. Polakh loves music and an passionate guitar player.


Muktaparna Boruah: Engineer 

Muktaparna is a graduate in Solar and Alternative Energy from Amity University, Noida. Before joining GSES, she worked as an intern at PI Photovoltaic-Institute Berlin AG, Germany where she worked on technical and economic feasibility of BIPV. In June 2016, she received a scholarship for showing consistent academic proficiency to participate in the Sakura Science Plan administered by Japan Science and Technology Agency. She has also done a summer internship at Amorphous Silicon Solar Cell Plant (ASSCP), Gurgaon which is an R&D facility for the development of amorphous silicon thin-film and related photovoltaic technologies. 


Kaushik Saikia: Engineer

Kaushik hold a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering from Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi. Before he joined GSES India, he was a project intern at National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Gurgaon, Haryana. He has four conference publications at National & International level. Apart from academics, he is a state player in swimming and love to visit different places.


Roshny Mathew: Engineer

Roshny holds M.Tech degree in Industrial Automation and Robotics from Malnad College of Engineering under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka. She is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from Institution of Engineers India. Before joining GSES she was engineer at Kerala State Electricity Board. Apart from academics she is interested in crafting and movies.


Ankit Mahato: Trainee Engineer

Ankit Mahato completed B. Tech in Solar and Alternate Energy from Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He has done summer internship in Tata Steel/Power. He has done a short-term training in SunBorne Energy, Noida. In his spare time, he likes to play football and reading.

Chandrakant Bhardwaj: Intern

Chandrakant is pursuing his M.Tech (Energy Engineering) from Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi. He has interned at Waaree Energies Ltd, Surat, wherein, he was associated with a PV module manufacturing facility (sized 1000 MW). He has undergone a short term field training at a grid connected solar power plant (of 2 MW) at Jamuriah, West Bengal. He also has been a part of Workshop on Zero Energy Buildings conducted by IIT-Bombay. In his free time, he enjoys playing table tennis and travelling to new places.


Ashutosh Tripathi: Intern 

Ashutosh is pursuing M. Tech (Power system) from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (R.G.P.V.). He has done industrial training in Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) Bhopal for three weeks and has done Industrial Training at Abyssal Pearl Infoweb OPC Pvt. Ltd. for four weeks duration on Simulation tools- MATLAB. He has also been part of a workshop on INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION conducted by Sofcon India Pvt. Ltd. and worked on project based on Application of ICT conducted by BRBRAIT (BSNL) Jabalpur. In his free time, he enjoys playing badminton, cricket and travelling to new places.


Rashmi Bhengra: Intern 

Rashmi is pursuing her M.Tech (Energy Engineering) from Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi. She has previously interned at CSIR-CIMFR, Dhanbad (2016). She has worked on "Catalytic Pyrolysis of Waste Plastic" as part of her B.Tech project. Her area of interests includes renewable energy technologies, focussing more on photovoltaics. Apart from academics, she is an adventurous soul who loves travelling, trekking and exploring new things. 


Ankit Chouhan: Accounts Assistant 

Ankit has completed his graduation from Acharya Narendra Dev College (University of Delhi) in 2016. After graduation he took a 7-month ‘Accounts with Tally’ training from Escorts Finance Manager, Faridabad. Before joining GSES he also took a one-month GST awareness class. In his free time, he likes to travel to new places.
