Our team consists of a consortium of Renewable Energy System Engineers, Trainers, Designers and Installers, some of whom are recognized as pioneers of the Solar PV Industry. Collectively, we have over 100 years of knowledge, skill and experience as consultants, advisors and trainers in the clean energy environment.

Meet Our Directors

Our Directors have combined over 80 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector in the grid connected and off grid systems including hybrid power systems and mini grids.

Dr. Dwipen Boruah

Managing Director

Dr. Dwipen Boruah has over 33 years of experience in renewable energy planning, project management, consultancy, capacity building and training. Dwipen has business experience in more than 30 countries, with clients from the corporate sector, governments, multilateral organisations, and NGOs.
A Master Trainer for GSES training programs conducted in India and abroad, he has authored and co-authored books and training manuals on solar PV system design, installation, maintenance, and inspection, more than 200 technical and professional reports, and several publications and papers in technical magazines and journals. Before co-founding Global Sustainable Energy Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. along with Geoff Stapleton and Susan Neill in 2012, Dwipen served in the Assam Energy Development Agency as Project Manager, IT Power India as Head, Renewable Energy Solutions and ICLEI-South Asia Secretariat as Director Energy & Climate.
Dwipen is a mechanical engineer who completed his post-graduation in renewable energy at Oldenburg University, Germany. He has obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in energy.

Geoff Stapleton AO

Director

Mr. Geoff Stapleton has over 37 years of experience in providing design, engineering, installation and peer review services of renewable energy systems of varying scale including grid-connected PV systems, solar and hybrid systems (including storage technologies) in Australia, the Pacific, Africa and Asia. Geoff has been working with multilateral financing institutions, governments, development agencies, private enterprises, and local communities providing training and consultancy services spanning over 40 countries. He has been instrumental in the establishment of training and accreditation programs concerning the renewable energy industry as well as in the development of technical standards, industry guidelines and quality assurance programs.
Geoff has been active with various industry associations since 1991 and was Chairperson of the Clean Energy Council’s Standards, Training and Accreditation committee (STA). He is a member on Standards Australia Renewable E committee, the Advisory Committee for EE-Oz (Electro technology Industry Training Advisory Body). Geoff has been a Board of Directors of International Solar Energy Society (ISES) for many years.
Geoff graduated from UNSW as an electrical engineer with specialisation in solar photovoltaic engineering in 1981. Geoff has received the Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) award in 2025 for his decades of leadership in the global solar industry, shaping training standards, advancing sustainable energy access, and mentoring countless professionals along the way.

Muktaparna Boruah

Director

Ms. Muktaparna Boruah is a renewable energy professional with over 7 years of experience in solar PV project management, capacity building, field operations, and data analysis. She has contributed to multiple projects funded by GIZ, the World Bank, UNDP, USAID, and Mercy Corps. At GSES, she has managed international training programs for participants from more than 40 countries and contributed to technical training materials and books for engineers and technicians. She holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Renewable Energy Technologies from the University of Oldenburg, Germany. During her studies, she worked as a project management associate at PI Berlin, supporting PV system failure investigations and coordinating over 50 PV module testing projects. She also served as a field and data scientist associate at DLR, overseeing cloud camera and weather station monitoring, and worked as a social tutor supporting international students.

Pranab Kumar Nath

Managing Consultant

Mr. Pranab Nath brings over 29 years of expertise in rural market research, market penetration, sales, business development, strategic planning, techno-commercial operations, and project management within the solar power industry, spanning mini-grid, rooftop, and utility-scale projects.
A chemical engineering graduate with an MBA in Marketing from IMT Ghaziabad, he is also a certified Technical Consultant from the Consultancy Development Centre, New Delhi.
At GSES India, he oversees business development, project coordination, project delivery, and training on sales, market analysis, policy frameworks, business models, and techno-economic assessments. He has contributed to GIZ-funded Agri-voltaic evaluations and feasibility reports for 55 MWp solar park and 30 MW wind projects for the Royal Government of Bhutan.

Zoya R. Usmani

Senior Project Manager

Ms. Zoya R Usmani is an accomplished engineer with a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and more than 11 years of expertise in solar photovoltaic systems. She has designed over 300 projects across India and internationally, including work in Asia, Africa, and Australia, and has led several high-impact feasibility studies. Her portfolio includes collaborations with ISA, UNDP, ADB, and the World Bank, along with extensive training programs for engineers, government officials, and global professionals.
She brings strong technical specialization in utility-scale, rooftop, hybrid, and microgrid systems, with advanced skills in PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, HOMER, ETAP, and related design tools. She has a deep understanding of international standards and grid codes, and particular interests in sustainable energy generation, BESS integration, and green hydrogen solutions.
Her project management experience includes leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complete project lifecycles from feasibility to commissioning, and engaging effectively with utilities, government agencies, and international stakeholders. With broad cross-cultural exposure, she consistently delivers solutions tailored to diverse regulatory and environmental contexts.

Reena Kumari

Project Manager

Ms. Reena Kumari is a Project Manager at GSES India with an M.Tech degree in Energy Engineering, bringing strong technical and managerial expertise in renewable energy, particularly in the solar sector and performance analysis.
She is foundation of Engineering pillar of the GSES India and specialises in PVsyst and PVcase simulation software, with extensive experience in designing, optimising, and analysing grid‑connected rooftop, ground‑mount, floating, and hybrid PV systems across India, Australia, Africa, Bhutan, UAE, Somalia, and Afghanistan.
Her portfolio includes cumulative experience of 300 MW ground‑mounted solar PV systems and 50 MW rooftop projects, supported by detailed design packs prepared using Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and ETAP.

Taniya Shaw

Senior Accounts & Admin Manager

Ms. Taniya Shaw is a proficient Senior Accounts & Admin Manager at GSES India, playing a key role in overseeing the organization’s financial and administrative operations. She manages daily accounting, ledger maintenance, reconciliation, financial reporting, and assists with monthly and annual audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to financial policies and regulations. She handles billing, vendor coordination, and monitors financial transactions with a strong focus on efficiency and transparency.
Alongside her financial responsibilities, she oversees administrative functions such as office management, documentation, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow across all departments. Known for her organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask, contributes significantly to maintaining operational discipline and supporting the overall performance of the company.

Deepti Shakya

Project Manager

Ms. Deepti Shakya is a renewable energy professional with experience in business development, project management, capacity building, and training management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Delhi.
She has contributed to training programs, and international study tours in South Korea. Deepti plays a key role in developing training content, preparing technical reports, and engaging with government and institutional partners. She is also actively involved in business development activities including proposal preparation for tenders and RFPs, overseeing opportunity identification, documentation, and submissions.
Her interests include clean energy planning, institutional capacity building, and knowledge transfer to support sustainable energy transitions.

Vidyadhar Maralkar

Project Engineer

Mr. Vidyadhar Maralkar is a Project Engineer at Global Sustainable Energy Solutions (GSES) with an M.Tech in Renewable Energy Technology, specializing in solar PV. He has over seven years of experience in system design, project execution, and technical analysis across both Indian and international solar markets.
He has contributed 2.5 years at GSES as a Design Engineer and one year as an Engineering Analyst for USA-based projects, along with four years of prior experience in solar project execution and system design in India. Additionally, he has supported EV charging and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Australia, focusing on system design, technical evaluation, and integration studies.
His expertise includes detailed PV system design, energy-yield analysis, and performance assessment for rooftop, commercial, and utility-scale systems. With contributions to over 50 MWp of design work, he is recognized for his practical approach, clear coordination, and delivery of reliable, standards-compliant engineering solutions.

Shivek Gupta

Senior Engineer

Mr. Shivek Gupta is a renewable energy professional with strong expertise in solar PV systems, mini-grid planning, and power system analysis. He has extensive experience in feasibility studies, site surveys, system sizing, and detailed engineering for utility-scale, rooftop, and off-grid projects. His work spans AC- and DC-coupled systems, battery energy storage integration, diesel generator optimization, and the use of advanced tools such as HOMER Pro, PVsyst, ETAP, and custom Excel-based models. Shivek has contributed to international energy access projects, including mini-grids in Africa, and actively supports utilities and DISCOMs through technical training on design, operation, maintenance, and electrical safety. Currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Renewable Energy, his professional interests include sustainable energy planning, grid integration of renewables, and capacity building for clean energy deployment.

Priya Kumari

Senior Engineer

Ms. Priya Kumari is a renewable energy professional specialising in solar PV design, financial and economic analysis, site surveys, technical inspections, and system performance evaluation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calcutta. She has contributed to a wide range of international renewable energy projects in Niue, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, RMI, Somalia, and India, delivering feasibility assessments and bankable DPRs under UNDP, GIZ, and ISA initiatives.
Her professional interests include developing cost-effective system designs, conducting detailed field assessments, and applying financial modelling to support decision-making for solar mini-grids, hybrid systems, rooftop systems, and pumping solutions. Ms. Kumari is also actively involved in GSES’s capacity-building programmes and projects, contributing to training coordination and development of technical materials that strengthen both technical and financial competencies among institutions and government officials.

Muskan Gupta

Senior Engineer

Ms. Muskan Gupta is a renewable energy professional with 2 years of experience in solar PV system design, site assessment, project management, and training coordination. She holds a Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and was awarded the University Gold Medal in 2023. Muskan has contributed to multiple national and international renewable energy projects, including assignments in the Solomon Islands, Comoros, Vanuatu, the Marshall Islands, São Tomé and Príncipe, Somalia, and Niue.
At GSES, she oversees the planning and execution of training programs, ensuring efficient delivery and a meaningful learning experience. She coordinates with trainers and teams, manages documentation, and maintains clear communication to ensure smooth program execution. Additionally, Muskan supports business development and builds strong relationships with clients and partners, remaining committed to advancing skill development and empowering professionals in the renewable energy sector.

Dr. Sruthi Duraipandi

Research Associate

Dr. D. Sruthi holds a Ph.D. in Solar Thermal Energy Storage Systems from Pondicherry University and is currently working as a Research Associate at GSES India. She has over 11 months of experience in technical coordination, project documentation, and supporting proposal-related activities. Her interests include project report preparation, training content development, and capacity-building initiatives. She actively promotes solar energy training programs across South India and contributes to outreach, communication, and coordination efforts to enhance participation in solar skill-development programs.

Navdeep Singh

Engineer

Mr. Navdeep Singh is a Mechanical Engineering graduate serving as an Engineer within our renewable energy division. He supports diverse solar project development activities through strong technical skills and software proficiency. In AutoCAD, he prepares essential project drawings, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, and site layout plans to ensure accuracy and clarity during execution. With expertise in SketchUp, Navdeep performs 3D modeling and shadow analysis to evaluate site suitability and optimize system design. His experience with PVsyst further strengthens project feasibility assessments, as he develops system layouts, conducts energy simulations, and produces detailed performance reports to support early-stage decision-making.
He has also contributed to concept-level innovation, notably working on a prototype solar water pump system aimed at decentralizing water storage in hilly regions for improved accessibility. Known for his proactive approach and commitment to continuous learning, Navdeep brings analytical thinking, precision, and a solution-driven mindset to every project.

Kaustav Borgohain

Engineer

Mr. Kaustav Borgohain is a Solar PV Technical Training Instructor at Global Sustainable Energy Solutions India (GSES India). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Assam Engineering College and has six months of experience at GSES.
His responsibilities include evaluating design tasks, responding to trainee queries via the Crisp messaging platform, providing feedback through email, and supporting content development for training programs. Kaustav’s interests encompass renewable energy technologies, power system design, and capacity building. He is actively enhancing his skills in PV system design, performance analysis, and grid-connected solar systems, while contributing to GSES’s mission of delivering high-quality renewable energy training.

Udita Das

Engineer

Ms. Udita Das is an Electrical Engineer who graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, with a strong academic foundation in power systems and core electrical engineering principles. She has a keen interest in the renewable energy sector and its practical applications in modern power systems.
She is currently working as an Engineer at GSES, where she is engaged in the development, review, and updating of technical course content for professional training programs. Her work focuses on aligning learning materials with relevant standards, codes, and industry best practices, while ensuring technical accuracy and practical relevance. She contributes to the creation of structured training modules, reference documents, and assessments aimed at strengthening technical understanding and supporting skill development for professionals working across the renewable energy sector.

Shubham Shukla

Software Engineer

Mr. Shubham Shukla is a Software Developer at GSES India, where he works on the organisation’s website, employee portal, and a range of internal digital tools. He holds a B.Tech from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. His role spans full-stack development, including frontend and backend design, scalable system development, database management, and technical support for the team.
He also contributes to digital marketing efforts and focuses on building user-friendly, efficient, and reliable digital solutions. He enjoys exploring new technologies and continuously improving the digital systems that support GSES’s training and consultancy services, ensuring smooth operations and modern,future-ready platforms.

Sujit Kumar

3D Generalist

Mr. Sujit Kumar is a highly skilled 3D Generalist at GSES India, specializing in creating precise and visually compelling digital representations for the renewable energy sector. He has completed D3D (3D Filmmaking and Animation) from MAAC, Delhi, equipping him with advanced technical and creative skills. His expertise includes 3D Modelling, Texturing & Shading, Lighting, Animation and Rendering & Visualization. His contributions enhance our training programs, engineering presentations, and client communications through immersive and detailed 3D content.
At GSES, he is actively engaged in producing high quality 3d animations and visual materials and support technical training program. His work enhance digital learning content, making complex renewable-energy concepts more engaging and visually accessible.
